OFFICERS Academy was started in 2002 by SP Hammad Haider. He, himself being a PSP officer, felt the dire need to open an academy which could provide a proper direction to the students preparing for competitive examinations. It was felt that the CSS aspirants had to encounter tremendous problems ranging from the selection of subjects to techniques vis-à-vis how to attempt the paper. Even those students with a brilliant academic background often found CSS preparation to be a Herculean task.
CSS examination (and of course PMS, too) is unique in the sense that there is a diversity of subjects. Students preparing for CSS have diverse academic backgrounds as well. They may be doctors, engineers, lawyers or they may be having a Bachelors or a Masters degree in science, commerce, business administration, computer sciences or humanities. No candidate has a proficiency in all the selected optional subjects of CSS, merely on the basis of his/her academic qualification. This leaves all of them perplexed and confused. And this is where OFFICERS Academy comes to their rescue, and acts like a bulwark to the students’ apprehensions. With a faculty comprising senior CSS officers and professors, and under the immaculate guidance of SP Hammad, CSS candidates embark on a journey to success, effectively coping with each and every stumbling block.
Innumerable CSS and PMS officers have been produced by OFFICERS Academy. History was made in CSS 2007 when a blind student of our academy, Saima Saleem, got 6th position and was allocated to Foreign Services. In CSS 2008, our student Dr. Noorulain broke all previous records with highest marks ever in CSS: written-794; interview-191. Selection of optional subjects and choosing the right books to prepare for those subjects requires an expert advice. Books being suggested officially do not serve the purpose fully. Most of those books are not readily available in the market, and often do not cover the entire course. Furthermore, CSS (and PMS) examination requires a much focused approach, for which only appropriate books are needed to be selected. Optional subjects are recommended by SP Hammad to every student, keeping in view his/her academic background, aptitude, interest as well as the fact that which subjects are more scoring.
Devotion, diligence and perseverance catapulted OFFICERS Academy to nation-wide popularity. OFFICERS Academy is, by the grace of ALLAH, now well-established and is Pakistan’s largest CSS/PMS/PCS academy.
