FESF, shop treatment as part of its Deaf Reach Program, has developed a digital Visual Pakistan Sign Language Dictionary, meeting a significant need for the Pakistani Deaf community, as well as for those interested to learn Pakistan Sign Language (PSL).



The native language of any Deaf community is their signed language, which is different and unique in every country. Prior to the development of the PSL Lexicon, there existed very little resource material available in dictionary form to assist students in strengthening the language skills necessary for academic advancement.



Impact and Outcomes



The PSL video resources provide an invaluable tool for all those involved in Deaf education and advocacy, greatly aiding in the training of teachers and interpreters for the Deaf, as well as families with Deaf members.



The standardization of sign language in Pakistan will also greatly improve Deaf access to essential services, such as healthcare, medical representation, job placement, and facilitate greater involvement in the community.
