Hidayah Preschool is an early childhood educational concept which combines academic excellence with ethical personality development with an Islamic ethos. The holistic approach balances academic excellence development with ethical human development leading to a “Saadiq” and "Ameen" personality.
PURPOSE AND METHODOLOGY
Hidayah Preschool early learning program is a new approach to early childhood education focusing on a foundation of purpose-driven bilingual language skills for a purpose driven citizen. The education skill is balanced with personality development and critical thinking skills.
Hidayah has chosen the HighScope methodology, a research-proven methodology to build a solid foundation for the highest possible quality holistic education for the benefit of humanity at large.
FOUNDERS MESSAGE
Education, especially early childhood education and upbringing, is so crucial in building a just society that it drives a constant human effort in developing better methodologies seeking to develop an ideal citizen. Hidayah Academy was a culmination of this thought process, inspired by a dynamic society’s urge to constantly improve educational methodology resulting in a purpose driven and just individual.
Humans, consciously and subconsciously, are innately driven by an ethos or belief system and develop educational systems according to those beliefs. These ethos-driven efforts lead to the development of education systems driven by the founding members and society’s persuasion. The society follows the belief driven education system the dominant intellectual leadership develops. This applies to all belief-driven education systems, be it nationalistic, socialistic, capitalistic, secular or religious. Because these education systems are belief-ethos driven, they tend to become indoctrinating rather than truly educative. Unfortunately, these systems, including the so called liberal systems, ultimately tend to become self righteous, exclusive or elitist in nature. This is a fundamental human intellectual dilemma arising from the innate human desire to know the “Ultimate Truth”. This seeking of "The Truth" is done on the basis of personal and societal beliefs, logically or scientifically derived or a combination of them.
If the belief happens to be Islam, then, there are certain fundamental belief principles which need to be intellectually understood for laying the foundation of an Islamic-ethos-driven education system. Notwithstanding the different interpretations, total acceptance that The Quran and Sunnah is the true guidance is essential. The critically important educative effort is to seek that truth with an open mind. In addition to a specific ethos, as the key guiding principle of an education system, the utilization of scientific evidence-based methods and child psychology appropriate techniques of education is essential for the desired outcomes and excellence.
Keeping these essential principles in mind, the founders of Hidayah Academy have chosen to focus on early childhood education, ethical academic and personality development, effective English and Arabic language communication skills to access the technical and divine knowledge for a holistic educational outcome.
